We have a great team here at Pelikin HQ and we want you to know all about them! So say hello to our king coder and resident Irishman as he tells us all who he is and what he does for us at Pelikin HQ!
Tell us a bit about yourself!
I’m Irish but have been based in Melbourne on and off over the last 10 years. I love spicy food, have completed a couple of IronMan Triathlons (one in Melbourne and one in Nice, France) and am an ex-Man United fan!
What’s your role here at Pelikin?
I’m the Development Manager!
What did you study?
I studied Computer Science at Dublin City Uni.
What’s been the biggest challenge of the role so far?
I’d say one of the biggest challenges would have to be taking on quite a varied codebase with limited resources at hand. But I love a challenge and it’s been great working through it!
What’s been your biggest achievement?
Prepping the app to handle a higher volume usage. The team’s goal is to grow our Pelikin squad so the app needs to be robust enough to accommodate that!
What do you want to do next?
After Pelikin, I’d like to spend time learning Spanish in South America. There’s no better way to learn a language than to use it every day!
Where was the place you visited?
Iceland and it was breath-taking!
And your favourite destination so far?
Nepal, the trekking there is like nothing else and I’d say it has some of the best scenery in the world. Plus eating as a vego there is the best.
Where will you head to next?
Georgia (the country, not the state!)
Best and favourite Pelikin app feature?
Definitely split bills. It makes the app super-inclusive, useful and collaborative. I think it’s the best feature for groups of travellers!
