It has been said that ScMo has been discussing with New Zealand president Jacinda Ardern about reopening tourism between the two countries! So although your plans to backpack Europe, Island hop in Greece or taking that trip around Asia may still be on hold, it does mean we may be able to get back in the air sooner than expected, and what a place to start than the awesome scenes of New Zealand!!

Skyline Queenstown

Not for the faint-hearted or those with fears of heights, the lookout views at the top will be sure to take your breath away (with a side of wobbly knees). But the picture-perfect views make it worth every second of the skipped heartbeats.
If you really are feeling super adventurous then take the fun way back down on their awesome luge experience! You can also get involved with heaps of other activities at the Skyline Queenstown such as mountain biking trails, stargazing, or even treat yourself to a spot of shopping! Lake Wakatipu
Lake Wakatipi is the third largest lake in New Zealand and what a scene it is. The lake is shaped like a ‘z’ or better described ‘lightning bolt’. The crystal clear waters and surrounding mountains make it one of the most beautiful views. The water is ice-cold even in warmer temperatures so if you’re brave enough to paddleboard or kayak amongst the waters then make sure you wear your thermals under your cozzies. You can also take a cruise amongst the water on a jet boat, tour boat or hire out your own for a spot of fishing.
Other picturesque lakes to get that awesome insta worthy shot include Lake Wanaka, Moke Lake and Lake Hayes.
Bungee Jump
If you really need to wake up from your COVID-19 isolation daze and fancy yourself a bit of a daredevil then why not push that adrenalin rush to the test and take part on the AJ Hackett Bungy jump experience? Prepare to jump the terrifying heights of 43-meters from the historic suspension bridge and throw yourself into the Kawarau River below. You won’t actually touch the water (well as long as the rope on your ankles stays in-tact) but you may feel a slight wet patch in your trousers as you risk your life in the once-in-a-lifetime experience. It is sure one you won’t regret doing and a must-do when travelling Queenstown, New Zealand.
Trails In Queenstown
There are heaps of trails you can take to explore the awesome scenes and secret lakes that Queenstown has to offer. Some of the most popular trails include the Mount Crichton Loop Track which is a two- to four-hour track for an easy walk and a great way to experience a slice of the Queenstown scenery if you’re pushed for time.
If you are a true walk-lover then why not take on the challenge of the Ben Lomond Summit? The entire trek to the top and back takes a full day so remember to bring your sarnies and wear some secure sneakers.
Otherwise try out the famous Queensland trail which leads you across the shores of both Lake Wakatipu and Lake Hayes, giving you those spectacular views that make New Zealand so loved.
Skiing
Whether you’re a learner or fancy yourself as a pro, Queensland has some of the world’s best ski spots for you to chase the powder. The most popular two include Coronet Peak and The Remarkables. The Ski season usually lasts from June to September so it is a perfect activity to keep you busy in the colder months. These resorts don’t provide accommodation but do have daily shuttle buses to the slopes, so you will need to stay in the town center.
